Never really bought into the idea that the Thompson’s still had a negative influence in the program until two days ago. Though Jt Jr is still at every practice, it seems Ronny felt the job was his after JT3 left and he’s been working to make that A reality ever since. As far as some of the comments of McClung not feeling at home, apparently Jt Jr is super petty and doesn’t really respect alumni who haven’t been in the NBA or aren’t Ewing/Mourning/Mutombo. Honestly it kinda tracks and I could imagine his presence is a reason alumni like AI don’t come around as often, cause he’s certainly the reason other alumni don’t come around as often I wouldn’t want to establish my legacy in an environment like that if I were Mac. Hopefully the Thompson’s move on before they completely undermine what’s going on. They are likely helping to poison the well with the admin against the current team leadership.

As for Patrick he'll be fine. Big John was only 43-37 after 3 years at Gtwn. JT got better, so will Patrick. Will Gtwn return to 80's greatness? No.
By the by...MacClung to NCA&T or Howard. Best fit.
That is not a sound theory you’re offering up because I could point to countless examples of teams “returning to prominence”.....every team has had a lull in their history.

Don't sweat it. You're a new poster. It may take you a while to decipher 'Git-speak.
Roughly translated this post reads: "My Jays will take a back-seat to no one. I don't care how great of a conference the BE was or how great a program the Hoyas were back in the day. This is 2020 and it's CU's time to shine. And if they don't then fire Mac and get in someone who can get it done!"
Then there will certainly be a small dig in there that is intended as harmless fun. In this case a slight jab at White Chocolate MacClung playing at a Tradtional Black College. He may suggest a slightly overweight player eat more donuts or that Cooley needs to find a better barber, etc., etc. Just part of the charm that is a Jays-fan-old-timer who just wants one damn NC (or at least a FF) before he's 6 feet under.
smallmodularreactor wrote:No problem. Take it fwiw but I have it on good authority. And in my longer post (Maybe it wasn’t approved because it was too long?) I talked a little about how 99% of the Hoya fan base is in the dark cause the program has historically been tight lipped and they haven’t let much info out and our base has been irresponsibly speculating about what actually went down without any real basis and it’s also undermined our perception nationally. I.e is the casual Hoya fan believes these BS narratives then why wouldn’t others? If you dig into the set of facts surrounding the discipline that’s gone on last summer, there is no way real way for the average fan to tell what actually has transpired. Either way each of Mac/Akinjo/LeBlanc had expressed interest in transferring since Their first semester freshman year. Also have hear the admin didn’t know how to deal with so much publicity, in particular with regards to Mac and the media/videographers following him around campus.
Some at GU (faculty/admin/students) turn their nose up at athletes and want to maintain the purity of academics of campus even if it means no sports. It’s a bigoted way of thinking to be honest and definitely a shame. Though college sports aren’t purely amateur anymore, there are still countless young men and women seeking a quality educational AND athletic experience, but there are some adults at GU that would have you think the two are mutually exclusive. They’re not, it just takes a special breed of person to want to earnestly excel in both areas at the same time. That is one reason I’ve always been a fan of GU because it isn’t strictly about sports. Here’s to hoping the admin realizes the value of an athletic experience in augmenting a student’s development and give the basketball staff a little more discretion to run the program as is standard. Right now it seems as if Ewing has been working with one hand tied behind his back since last summer.
