Worth it's own thread. While it shouldn't be a shock to anyone considering where the program is, I think many of us are still shocked.

Liked JTIII as a person, but sometimes it's jut time to move on. Good luck to him and hopefully Georgetown can make a big splash with whoever they hire.

Tommy Amaker and Patrick Ewing both mentioned on twitter. Goodman tweeted that several coaches and agents have reached out to him already and have asked what impact JT2 would have on the program.

Maybe that's one Gregggggg Marshall would consider. That would give me a great reason to start hating GT basketball. Need to somehow figure out a way to develop a healthy disdain for some BE teams. Just haven't been able to get there yet, since joining the league. I guess still to giddy over being in the BE.

I like Dan Hurley. Catholic guy with basketball family. Attended Seton Hall. Proven he can win-see URI!

I was thinking the same thing. He's a Big East guy. In addition to any networks he's built while at URI, his father gives him instant recruiting connections into the New Jersey talent pool.

I'll throw a name out from left field. Frank Martin, that guy knows how to coach. He's made a believer out of me. He's also big on defense, a trademark of past Hoya teams.

Obviously Indiana is the biggest job out there currently but Georgetown is a huge job for any coach and I think that after the Hoosiers have their pick, the Hoyas can make a go at whoever is left from among Gregg Marshall, Archie Miller, Danny Hurley. Or maybe even poach another P6 coach like Illinois did
