There was already a plan to build this, but the funding was somewhat up in the air. It now appears that we will be partnering with Aurora Healthcare (very large hospital system in southeast Wisconsin) who will be providing $40 million for the project, which is expected to cost $120 million overall. While this center is primarily devoted to sports science and athletic performance research it is expected to include a field house/indoor lacrosse/soccer stadium as well as athletic lockers and some student lounge/study areas for the general student populace. Should be great for improving the academic reputation of the university, the athletic performance of the teams, recruiting for lacrosse and soccer, and overall student life. This is also a partnership with the Milwaukee Bucks, who will be investing in and making use of the center. Shovels in the ground in 2017.

This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
